Salman Khan: Educator & CEO Khan Academy

Salman Khan is the founder and faculty of the Khan Academy (www.khanacademy.org)– a not-for-profit organization with the mission of providing a free world-class education to anyone, anywhere. It now consists of self-paced software and, with over 1 million unique students per month, the most-used educational video repository on the Internet (over 30 million lessons delivered to-date). All 2000+ video tutorials, covering everything from basic addition to advanced calculus, physics, chemistry and biology, have been made by Salman.
Prior to the Khan Academy, Salman was a senior analyst at a hedge fund and had also worked in technology and venture capital. He holds an MBA from Harvard Business School, an M.Eng and B.S. in electrical engineering and computer science from MIT, and a B.S. in mathematics from MIT.

Mr. Hussain Dawood is Chairman of Dawood Hercules Chemicals Ltd., Engro Chemical Pakistan Ltd, Karachi Education Initiative/Karachi Business School and the Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund, which is, globally, the largest World Bank financed social fund. He also serves as a member of the Boards of the Commonwealth Business Council, Pakistan Business Council, Pakistan Centre for Philanthropy, Institute of Strategic Studies and Beaconhouse National University. He is a Global Charter Member of The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE) and the Honorary Consul of Italy, in Lahore. The Italian government in recognition of his contribution conferred upon him the Ufficiale Ordine al Merito della Repubblica Italiana on 3rd December 2008. Mr. Dawood is the first Pakistani to become a member of the World Economic Forum in 1992. He was also among the limited people who attended the WEF Russia CEO Roundtable 2008. He has also attended the WEF Inaugural Annual Meeting of the New Champions in Dalian, WEF Middle East at Sharm-el-Sheikh and the Dead Sea and WEF Meetings in Malaysia and Singapore. He has participated in several International Programs including the SAARC Business Leaders Conclave, New Delhi; the India Today Conclave, New Delhi, and the Dubai Strategy Forum. He has an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University, USA, and a graduate in Metallurgy from Sheffield University, UK.

Rick is a serial entrepreneur and pioneer in social media with more than a decade of experience in the consumer Internet space. As the Founder & CEO of BranchOut, he is responsible for setting the right course, hiring incredible people and letting them run as fast as possible to build a service that can change the world. Previously, Rick was the Founder & CEO of SuperFan, a social entertainment platform that developed social games and Facebook apps. SuperFan’s clients included CBS, MTV, Universal Music, Warner Music, Sony and others. Before SuperFan, Rick was the Co-Founder and Chief Strategist of Tickle, one of the largest social media sites on the Internet. In 2002, Tickle won the ”Rising Star” Webby Award as the fastest growing site on the Web and became a top 20 global site with 200 million registered users and $40 million of annual revenue. In 2004, Tickle was acquired by Monster Worldwide for over $100 million.
Rick received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration at the University of New Hampshire, magna cum laude, and a MBA from Harvard University Graduate School of Business Administration. Rick currently serves on the Advisory Boards of Fwix, Lumos Labs, Stipple, Founder’s Den, FIGHTER and previously Friendster (acquired by MOL). Al Lieb is passionate about leveraging technology to help people connect in the real world. In 1998, he co-founded Evite, which soon became the leading event invitation service helping tens of millions of people organize events.
