| Dilawar Syed is CEO of Yonja Media Group, an emerging markets-focused internet media company. Prior to joining Yonja, Dilawar managed Platform Business Group at Yahoo! In this capacity, Dilawar was responsible for planning Yahoo!'s investments in next generation platforms, tools and infrastructure; running business operations to support platform adoption worldwide; and managing business development to extend Yahoo! services to external developers. Prior to Yahoo!, Dilawar spent several years in enterprise software in product management roles. At SAP, Dilawar managed product marketing strategy for Customer Relationship Management. At Siebel, Dilawar took products to market for the Telco, Media and Energy business unit. Most notably, Dilawar was responsible for launching Siebel's middleware platform, and helped grow the business to more than $100M in revenue. Dilawar started his career as a manangement consultant with Deloitte & Touché and Ernst & Young in the firms' Financial Services, Communications and High-tech industry practices. Dilawar is an OPEN Silicon Valley Charter Member and has served as its President since 2007. Outside professional interests, Dilawar is active in broad range of civic efforts. In 2008, Dilawar served as a National Finance Committee member for President Obama's campaign, and was appointed Co-Chair of South Asian American Leadership Council in the DNC. Dilawar serves on the board of Fred Korematsu Institute for Civil Rights & Education. Dilawar holds MBA from The Wharton School, and BA in Economics and Computer Science from The University of Texas at Austin. |
