The Business of Gaming

The current evolution of the gaming industry is set to exceed those of both the music and movie industries. Now especially, when the economy is slowing down, there are innovative ways to develop, market and distribute games across platforms and form factors. In order to make a successful new game or console, much more than game designers and programmers are needed; there is an entire business oriented aspect that is often left out of the spotlight. Issues such as marketing, advertising, financing, business models, licensing, distribution, entrepreneurship, and development are key to the gaming industry. The panel brings together industry leaders, game developers and publishers to discuss the business trends in the gaming industry, and explore the future of the multi-billion dollar economic sector.
