Dr. Khurram Afridi Print E-mail

 

Khurram Afridi

 Dr. Khurram Afridi is the Project Director, the Werner-von-Siemens Chair for Power Electronics and Associate Professor of Electrical Engineering at the LUMS School of Science and Engineering (SSE).  He is currently also a Visiting Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at MIT, and the Chief Operating Officer of Techlogix.  As Project Director of LUMS SSE, he helped raise $58 million for the school’s capital and endowment needs and guided SSE through it launch with a first batch of 160 students starting classes in October 2008.  As Chief Operating Officer of Techlogix, he helped the company grow since inception in 1996 into a diversified technology services company with operations in US, UAE, Pakistan and China.  Prior to joining Techlogix, he worked at Schlumberger, Philips Laboratories, Lutron, and JPL.  At JPL he was part of the SURFSAT-1 design team – a NASA satellite that was launched into orbit in 1995.  Khurram is a recipient of the BMW Scientific Award for 1999.  He is a member of the Board of Management of the Engineering Development Board of Pakistan, a member of the Institutional Review Board of Shaukat Khanum Hospital and a member of the Board of Directors of Techlogix.  Khurram received his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Caltech.  He was awarded Masters of Science and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from MIT.  He is a contributing author of the Power Electronics Handbook and holds one US and international patent.

Tarek is a seasoned global finance professional with a track record of originating and executing financial advisory mandates, representing an aggregate transaction volume over $20 Billion. Tarek currently focuses on providing independent corporate finance, restructuring and investment advisory services to investment funds and portfolio firms in the energy and industrials sectors globally.

Most recently, Tarek was an Executive Director with Goldman Sachs International, based in London. At Goldman, he focused on corporate finance advisory services for Natural Resources and Diversified Industrials clients. Prior to this, Tarek spent five years at J.P.Morgan in New York within the Mergers & Acquisitions advisory practice. Tarek has extensive experience across a range of transactions, including mergers, buy-outs and IPOs for leading corporate clients and private equity funds, and has advised on transactions ranging in size from $100 million to over $10 billion.

Tarek has joint B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and Economics from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Geoffrey Arone 

Geoffrey is a serial entrepreneur who has raised over $33 million in total venture investment for his companies in the past five years, and has aided many other companies, at a board or advisory level, from incorporation, to funding, to acquisition, and in some cases shutdown. His passion is demonstrated in his ability to create business opportunities, build teams, and attract outside investment.
Prior to founding LargeCorp, Geoffrey was an Entrepreneur in Residence at Bessemer Venture Partners. In this role, Geoffrey participated in partner meetings and helped to identify and evaluate new and existing opportunities, while assisting portfolio companies with their product, marketing, and BD strategies. While at Bessemer, Geoffrey founded "A Large Corporation, Inc.", a social media company that runs DanceJam and cliKball. 

Mr. Arone also founded Flock, a social web browser based on Firefox that helps people exchange photos and video as they browse the Web. To date, Flock has been downloaded and installed by nearly 7 million people worldwide.
Geoffrey has an MBA focused on New Product and Venture Development from MIT, where he was president of the MIT Sloan Entrepreneurs and was one of the winners of the business plan competition for MIT. Also while at MIT Geoffrey worked for Navigator Technology Ventures (a division of Draper Labs) where he helped to evaluate investments ranging from electronics to medical devices.
Mr. Arone also holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Neural Science from Brown University and has pursued Ph.D. studies in Neuroscience.

Josh Becker started his career in the Clean Energy area in 1991. From Williams College he went to work for ICF-Kaiser International, a DC-based environmental consulting and engineering firm. There he helped launch the first Clean Air Marketplace conference back in 1992 and consulted on energy strategy for companies like General Electric.

After working on Capitol Hill as a Press Secretary for a Congresswoman on the Energy and Commerce Committee, he started his first Internet company in 1994 when he co-founded IntraACTIVE a pioneering groupware company.  He was also one of the first employees at EarthWeb Inc, which went public in 1998.

After joint degrees from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and Stanford Law School, Becker joined Brentwood Venture Capital and then joined Brentwood's technology partners in 1999 in founding Redpoint Ventures (www.Redpoint.com). At Redpoint he brought in investments like BigBand Networks (NASDAQ:BBND) and served as a board observer for BigBand, Esurance, and ViaFone.

Becker is an Advisor to Energy Unlimited, a pioneering wind energy company. He is Co-Founder of the Freedom Prize Foundation (www.freedomprize.org), which will soon be giving out $5M in prizes with DOE to encourage deployment of clean energy technologies and Co-Founder of SmartTransportation.org.  Becker is the Founder and Chair of The Full Circle Fund, www.fullcirclefund.org, an alliance of emerging business leaders who help solve public problems through engaged philanthropy and public policy advocacy.  He serves on the National Board of Directors for One Economy (www.one-economy.com) and serves on the Board of Trustees for the newest campus in the University of California System, The University of California at Merced.  Becker was recently named as one of the Top 40/under 40 people to watch in Silicon Valley by the San Jose Business Journal.  He also was selected to be part of the SV100 A group of the 100 Most Influential People in Silicon Valley.

     Adam Bergman is a Senior Vice President at Jefferies & Company, Inc. leading Jefferies west-coast CleanTech investment banking calling effort. He has been exclusively focused on the CleanTech sector since 2005 and has executed transactions for Amonix, Distributed Energy, Energy Conversion Devices, EPV Solar, EnerNOC, EnerSys, Penford, Pentadyne Power, Solar Integrated Technologies, SunPower, Verenium (formerly Diversa) and Westport Innovations.  

      Prior to joining Jefferies in 2004, Mr. Bergman worked in the Technology Group at JPMorgan and its predecessor firm Chase H&Q for over three years. Before that, he worked at UBS in the Global Healthcare Group and at Rothschild, where he focused on M&A and restructuring and spent nine months in South Korea during the Asian financial crisis.  He has executed numerous public and private financing and M&A transactions domestically and internationally.   

      Mr. Bergman received an M.A. in International Development from the International University of Japan and a B.A. in Political Science from the Johns Hopkins University, where he was a member of Phi Beta Kappa.  He is married to Julia, whom he met while both were studying at the International University of Japan, and his first child, Aaron, was born in February 2009.

Wasiq has worked with technology startup and Fortune 500 companies on the adoption and commercialization of materials and nanotechnology with applications in energy, IT and medicine. Wasiq also works with entrepreneurs, early-stage startups and multiple venture funds in to help emerging nanotechnologies cross the “valley of death”. He brings extensive entrepreneurial, operational and (equity and debt) financing experience to his activities in cleantech. His interests include energy generation, water and emerging fuels technologies.

Recently, he was the CEO of Bioident Technologies, a provider of medical and environmental diagnostic solutions based on company’s proprietary printed semi-conductor technologies. The company products were recognized as the semiconductor technology innovation of 2007 by the Wall Street Journal. Prior to that, he was the co-founder and Managing Partner of Quantum Insight, a business consulting and investment firm. He was part of a small team that started and built a nanomaterials focused business unit of Chevron. He has worked with Hitachi as a strategy and venture consultant for identifying new companies and technologies for investment, partnerships and acquisitions. Previously, Wasiq was part of the founding team and Senior Vice President of Products of Clickmarks, an enterprise infrastructure software company, subsequently acquired by Semotus Solutions.

He received his Ph.D. in physics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he worked in the group headed by Nobel laureate Jerome Friedman. He was part of the team that discovered a fundamental particle called the top quark at the Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory in 1995, one of the most prominent physics results of the decade. He is an author of more than 50 scientific and technical publications, and is cited as an inventor on 8 US patents, granted and applied.

He has co-authored a widely recognized report on the potential of nanotechnology for the California Commission for Science and Technology (CCST). He was a co-founder and Steering Committee Chair of the MIT Stanford UC Berkeley Nanotechnology Forum. Wasiq works with PCAST (Presidential Council of Advisors on Science and Technology) on issues related to energy.
 
 
Richard Boly Print E-mail
 Richard BolyRichard C. Boly is a national security affairs fellow for 2008-2009 at the Hoover Institution. Mr. Boly represents the U.S. Department of State.

Richard is a career member of the United States Foreign Service. He was an Economic Officer at the U.S. Embassy in Rome, Italy from 2004-2008 and worked in the office of European Union affairs at the State Department from 2002-2004. His other overseas tours include the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, and Paraguay. Richard is the most junior diplomat to win the Cobb Award for commercial diplomacy. Prior to joining the Foreign Service, Richard was the first Presidential Management Fellow with the Inter-American Foundation, was a consultant with the Inter-American Development Bank, and founded and ran a shrimp hatchery in coastal Ecuador. Richard is a native of Tacoma, Washington and a graduate of Stanford University and the Graduate School of International Relations and Pacific Studies at the University of California, San Diego. He plans to use his fellowship year to focus on promoting entrepreneurship abroad as a U.S. policy objective.

Shashi Buluswar 

Shashi Buluswar leads the San Francisco office of Dalberg Global Development Advisors, a firm that provides strategic advice to international institutions (like the UN), NGOs, foundations and corporations, on development issues such as education, health, economic development, energy/environment, institution-building, and entry into emerging markets.  His projects include helping the UN restructure global peacekeeping operations,  working with a large US-based foundation to launch a regional agricultural project in West Africa, and helping build NGOs dedicated to education in Pakistan and TB in India.  He recently made a documentary film on the India-Pakistan conflict and the process of “cricket diplomacy”; in the process of making the film, he traveled extensively through Pakistan focusing on the country’s development issues.  Earlier this year, Shashi wrote a policy brief for the Obama administration to help rethink America’s Pakistan policy.
 
Prior to joining Dalberg, Shashi was an Associate Partner at the consulting firm McKinsey & Company, where he served financial services institutions and nonprofits on strategic and operational issues; before that, he was a Visiting Professor at Northwestern University.  Shashi holds an MBA from the J.L. Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, and a PhD in artificial intelligence from the University of Massachusetts

Tom Campbell

Tom obtained his B.A. and M.A. degrees from the University of Chicago , both on the same day in 1973.  He then entered Harvard Law School where he served on the Harvard Law Review Board of Editors.  He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Harvard Law in 1976. After law school, Tom served as law  clerk to U.S. Supreme Court Justice Byron White. In 1980, Tom returned to the University of Chicago to earn a Ph.D. in economics. His faculty advisor was Milton Friedman and it was at this time that Tom developed his beliefs in the importance of fiscal responsibility in government and individual liberty.
 
In 1978, Tom married Susanne, his bride of now 30 years.  From 1980-1981, Tom  was a White House Fellow in the Office of the Chief of Staff.   He then served in the Reagan Administration as Director of the Bureau of Competition, at the Federal Trade Commission from 1981 to 1983.
 
In 1983, Tom and Susanne moved west when Tom was offered a professorship at Stanford Law School . Tom received full tenure in 1987 at the age of 34.  At Stanford, Tom’s classes included  antitrust, international trade law, corporate law, and constitutional law, with a particular emphasis on the application of economics to legal problems.  At Stanford, Susanne continued her life-long interest in Russia , becoming fluent in Russian, and managing tours to the then Soviet Union . In 1992, Berkeley ’s Center for Research in Management hired Susanne  to help establish a business school in St. Petersburg , Russia . She was the Executive Director of that program for 16 years.
 
In 1988, Tom again entered public service.  Tom  served as a United States Congressman for five terms representing districts in the Silicon Valley . He was also a California State Senator, and the Director of Finance for the State of California .  In Congress, Tom served on the Judiciary Committee, the Joint Economic Committee, the Banking and Housing Committee and the International Relations Committee. He has served since 2004 on the Council of Economic Advisors to California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger.  During Tom’s tenure as State Finance Director, California ’s budget was balanced with no tax increases, no new borrowing, and no accounting gimmicks.
 
Tom has received many accolades for his public service.   To name a few, the National Taxpayers Union Foundation named Tom the most frugal member of the 102nd Congress, based on net annualized spending reductions in legislation he proposed. The California Journal named Tom the  #1 overall State Senator; the State Senate's Best Problem-Solver, and the Most Ethical State Senator.
 
In 2002, Tom was appointed Dean of the Haas School of Business at the University of California , Berkeley.  As Dean of  Haas, Tom stressed the importance of corporate social responsibility and business ethics amid an era of corporate scandals. Under Tom’s Deanship, the newly formed Center for Responsible Business took firm root, as well as the Center for Non Profit Management. The Haas School’s rankings shot up in every category and every survey during Tom’s tenure as Dean; most dramatically, reaching the rank of no. 2 in the nation according to the Wall Street Journal in Tom’s last year. 
 
In 2009, Tom and Susanne took a leave of absence to  move to Southern California where he joined the Chapman University School of Law in Orange County as the inaugural Presidential Fellow and Visiting Professor of Law. He also serves as an economic advisor to the international law firm of Gibson Dunn & Crutcher.

Carlos Cashman 

Carlos has raised over $50 million in private equity capital, across various ventures. He has also been an investor and advisor in numerous IT businesses in the US and abroad. He is a the CEO of a Lahore based Constellation Inc. (formerly Sofizar). Before this, Carlos was President and co-founder of CourseAdvisors which was acquired by The Washington Post Company in 2007. Carlos was also co-founder and CTO of Opus360 Corporation, a publicly traded software company sold to Artemis International in 2001 (NASD: AMSI.OB). He served as President and as a Director until becoming the Chief Technology Officer in December 1999 immediately prior to Opus360’s IPO. From 1997 to 1998, Carlos served as co-CIO of venture-backed networking technology firm Gray Peak Technologies which was sold to USWeb/CKS Corporation in 1998 to form their Networks Practice. Before Gray Peak, Carlos was Chief Technology Officer of Frankfurt Balkind Partners (FBP), a New York agency dedicated to strategic branding, advertising, and design.
Carlos Cashman graduated in 1994 from MIT which he attended on full scholarship from AT&T. He has actually spent time producing film projects in New York City and as a professional blackjack player and card-counter with a team of MIT alumni (ala the Movie “21”!).

Tim Chang

Tim focuses on investments in wireless and digital media as well as business development initiatives in Asia-Pacific. Tim led NVP's investments in and joined the boards of directors of 3Jam, Brite Semiconductor, Lumos Labs and ngmoco. Tim also led NVP's investment in PCH International, a turnkey global supply chain services firm based in Shenzhen. Tim works with the boards of deCarta, Double Fusion and Veveo.

Prior to joining NVP in 2006, Tim was a principal at Gabriel Venture Partners where he was actively involved in over a dozen wireless-related deals and led Gabriel's investments in Iridigm Display Corporation (acquired by Qualcomm), Sequoia Communications, Sandbridge, and Kajeet. He also contributed to the boards of Placeware (acquired by Microsoft) and Arula Systems (acquired by Raritan), TestQuest, NextG Networks, and IPWireless. Tim built Gabriel's wireless sector practice and helped establish business development capabilities through strong, strategic relationships across the wireless value chain, particularly in Asia-Pacific.

Prior to joining Gabriel, Tim spent more than five years working in Japan. He was a product manager at Gateway Inc. where he successfully launched direct-marketed PC servers in the Japanese market and quickly grew an enterprise product line into a full offering of network desktops, workstations, servers and configurable turn-key solutions. Prior to Gateway, Tim was a development engineer for General Motors. As a tri-lingual engineer based in Tokyo, Tim led project teams in China, Korea and Japan in the development, testing and sales of advanced chassis control systems for clients such as Toyota and Daewoo.

Tim began his career in venture capital in 1999 during his time at Stanford Business School as part of the founding team of CTR Ventures K.K., a venture accelerator in Tokyo focused on seed and early-stage mobile consumer applications for the Japanese market.

Tim currently serves on the advisory boards of the Silicon Valley Telecom Council, Dealmaker Media, Digital Hollywood, TiE Wireless SIG, MIT/Stanford VLAB, VC Task Force, and Silicon Valley Chinese Wireless Association. He was also listed on the AlwaysON Hollywood IT List recognizing technology leaders in the entertainment industry, as well as by The Deal as one of five emerging VCs to watch.

Tim holds an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business, where he was an Arjay Miller Scholar, and an MS in electrical engineering/system engineering as well as a BS in electrical engineering from the University of Michigan.

Rogelio (Ro) Choy is Chief Revenue Officer for RockYou. Ro leads the business efforts for RockYou. Before joining the RockYou executive team, Ro managed eBay's online parts business as a Director at eBay Motors and also was responsible for managing Market Development at eBay, including operation of eBay's U.S. wireless efforts. Prior to eBay, Ro co-founded Cima Systems, a leading VOIP software provider for auto dealers. Ro earned his MBA from Stanford University School of Business.

Michael Candrell

Michael has worked as CEO or EVP for 10 years in Internet-based, software-as-a-service companies, including eFax (Internet fax) and Celebros (e-commerce search). Earlier, he founded and ran two software companies in document creation and communications. Michael is equally comfortable with the business and technology sides of a company, and has experience taking a company from early stage to IPO.

Michael received his B.A. from Stanford University with graduate studies at Harvard University.

Ash founded MEDgle (http://www.medgle.com/ ) in Sept 2006. MEDgle empowers participatory healthcare by providing transparency to a consumers' medical options (diagnoses, physicians, services and health products) through a personalized medical search. MEDgle has created a clinical decision support service accessible by APIs to further empower physcians, health groups and health application
developers.

Previously, Ash was the CEO and founder of 2028, a vertical search and expert system platform which is used by companies such as MIT Media Lab and CTB (a division of McGraw-Hill). In addition, Ash has
worked as a Sr. Consultant & Business Strategist in the retail/financial technology sector with companies such as Sax Fifth Ave, Oakley, Canadian Tire, Belk, U.S. Navy/MIT, California State Government, Skillnet Solutions and the R&D at Citicorp. Over the course of the last 15 years, Ash has consistently worked on enabling practical artificial intelligence in such areas as: Real-time ray tracers, automated path planning, supply chain optimization, business intelligence, and search.

John De Souza

John de Souza is the President and CEO of MedHelp (www.MedHelp.org), the largest online health community and health application site. Prior to MedHelp, he was a Vice President at Goldman Sachs, managing the Technology Practice of the Private Equity Group. Mr. de Souza was a co-founder and director of Smartleaf, a financial software company providing separate account management solutions. Prior to that, he was the Vice President of Business Development and Marketing at DESoFT, a company that developed online real-time brokerage systems for retail brokerage firms which was sold to Merrill Lynch. Mr. de Souza was a co-founder of  Flash Communications, an Internet company (sold to Microsoft) that developed real-time two way messaging systems. Mr. de Souza also performed research on guidance systems for robotic surgery at IBM T. J. Watson Research Center, virtual reality systems for
NASA's Neurolab Space Project, and tools for laparoscopic surgery at the University of Tokyo. He received a BS and an MS in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and an MBA from Collège des Ingénieurs in France.

David Fleck is a 20 year technology industry veteran with 18 years in Silicon Valley managing marketing, product lines, business development and developer relations programs. His expertise includes consumer and enterprise sectors in both hardware and software and most recently he has been focused on Virtual Worlds and Social Networking.

Currently David is providing management and consulting services for various companies in the Social Networking and online consumer space.

Current or recent roles include working with various startups as well as GoPets.net - an online social gaming platform that provides a unique combination of social networking, gaming and 3D real time interaction. Duties included global expansion, distribution programs and launching with Microsoft's Windows Live Messenger.

Previously, David held the position of VP Marketing and contributed to Linden Lab's Second Life becoming the most recognized brand in Virtual Worlds and 3D online spaces. He helped growth by accelerating user acquisition as well as initiating branding, developer and distribution programs.

David joined Novell as VP Global Partnering to oversee responsibilities in partnering and developer programs. Other positions included marketing roles at Chromatic (first to ship a single chip DVD and multimedia solution for PC's), Telebit and Creative Labs where he led efforts to establish Sound Blaster as an industry audio standard. Prior to launching Naya Jeevan, Dr. Hasan served in the capacity of Senior Director and Head of the US Medical Affairs Obesity team for Amylin Pharmaceuticals, Inc. Graduating summa cum laude, Dr. Hasan successfully completed his MD degree from the State University of New York.  He then went on to train in General Surgery at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York City.  At this juncture, Dr. Hasan opted out of surgical practice to pursue a career in the pharmaceutical industry with Sanofi-Synthelabo (now sanofi-aventis). A 30-year veteran of the technology industry,  Masood Jabbar spent more than 16 years at Sun Microsystems, most recently serving as executive vice president of global sales operations.  Prior to heading Sun's sales organization, he was the president of Sun Microsystems' Computer Company, the multibillion dollar business unit that developed, manufactured and marketed desktop and server computing systems.  Mr. Jabbar also served in a number of other capacities within the Sun organization and it's subsidiaries including chief financial officer, general manager, and vice president of finance and planning.

In Brand Management at Procter & Gamble, Alex leveraged a forgotten technology and led two award winning marketing campaigns to build his brand to $80 million in sales. And, in Product Development at Procter & Gamble, Alex led the development and launch of three new-to-the-world Febreze products that helped the brand achieve sales of over $400 million in 50 countries in 24 months.

Alex also knows the joy and pain associated with starting a venture from scratch. In 2002, Alex began in Cleantech, founding Ocular Technologies to commercialize enhanced efficiency evaporators utilizing a proprietary monolayer coating that improved air conditioning performance. The challenges of commercializing components of a larger system controlled by an entrenched industry provided Alex with a learning experience that informs his investing.

Growing up outside of Philadelphia, PA, Alex earned a BS in Chemical Engineering with honors from Lehigh University and later an MBA with distinction from the Harvard Business School.

 Ping joined Accel in 2004 and focuses primarily on information technology infrastructure (compute, networking, security and storage), as well as digital media solutions. He currently serves on the Board of Directors at BitTorrent, Mochi Media, Mu Dynamics, and YuMe, and he is actively involved in Consentry, Imperva, and Oak Pacific Interactive. Ping was also responsible for Accel’s investment in Reactivity (acquired by Cisco).

Prior to Accel, Ping was a Senior Product Line Manager and Director of Corporate Development at Juniper Networks. He managed Juniper’s M-series router product portfolio that generated revenues over $50 mm/quarter. In addition, Ping worked on Juniper’s acquisition of Netscreen Technologies ($3.5 billion transaction) and led all subsequent security and routing product and R&D integration activities. He also worked as a strategy consultant for Mckinsey & Company, advising technology clients in their growth strategies.

Ping has extensive international experience as well. At Singapore Telecom, he served directly for the executive management team in assessing and investing in Asian growth opportunities. Prior to SingTel, Ping worked at Goldman Sachs Asia, transacting large PTT privatizations and advising telecom clients on complex restructuring and asset divestitures. Ping continues to be active in China investing by working with IDG-Accel China Fund.

Tucker's interest in distributed computing started in the mid 80's as a research scientist and Director of advanced development at Thinking Machines, working on machine vision and system architecture to create the massively parallel Connection Machine. He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science and has a background in Artificial Intelligence, Neurobiology, and large-scale parallel algorithms.

     Rahul has been building successful companies for the past decade. 

    Rahul is Vice President of Business Development and a founding team member for Virgance, a company that utilizes the power of social media and social networks to cause social change in a way that works in partnership with business.

    Prior to Virgance, Rahul was Vice President at Spock where he ran marketing. Spock was acquired by Intellius in 2009.  Prior to Spock, Rahul founded his first company, Advantix, while he was a junior in college.

    He is a founding member of the Full Circle Fund’s Environmental Impact Circle, serves on the Board of Directors at The Junior Statesmen Foundation & The Coro Foundation, and sits on Public Policy Committee for the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce.   In 2009 Rahul was appointed to the Mission Bay Citizen’s Advisory Committee by San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom.  

    Rahul serve as an adviser to several prominent elected officials across the country on clean energy and technology policy.  Rahul is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania.

Most recently, Freddy served as Worldwide Vice President of Product Marketing for Fortinet, the largest privately held network security vendor. At Fortinet, Freddy owned a product portfolio consisting of over 60 hardware, software and in the cloud subscription services and generated more than $150M in billings worldwide.

Prior to that, Freddy founded a marketing consultancy providing product strategy and marketing services to companies including IronPort Systems (acquired by Cisco), Sarvega (acquired by Intel) and Permeo (acquired by Blue Coat) to name a few. He has also held numerous sales, senior technical marketing and consulting engineer roles with companies such as Cisco Systems, WheelGroup and UUNET Technologies.

Freddy holds a B.S. in economics with honors from George Mason University and has completed additional studies at Virginia Polytechnic Institute, American University, Georgetown, University of Colorado, Stanford and Princeton.
