OPEN SV Moves Into An Office. Launches 'OPEN Office Hours' for Entrepreneurs |

OPEN SV has taken up an office space at Plug & Play Technology Center in Sunnyvale, CA. Our first ever move into an office space is more than just a physical move for our admininstrative needs. We envision our new home to become an important hub of hands-on mentorship, guidance and knowledge sharing for aspiring entrepreneurs and professionals in our community. Plug & Play Technology Center is a vibrant ecosystem of start-up's and venture capitalists. Having OPEN in the midst exposes our community to a rich environment where our entrepreneurs and professionals will have the opportunity to expand their network and make important connections with investors and stakeholders.
OPEN SV will start to hold some of its events at its new facility at the Plug & Play Center in Sunnyvale.
Starting fall, 2008, OPEN SV will launch 'OPEN OFFICE HOURS' -- a regular monthly block of time where entrepreneurs and professionals can review their business plans, ask questions and discuss their career needs and receive advice. This important 'grassroots' mentorship initiative will complement OPEN's compelling program of networking and knowledge sharing events throughout the year. |

On the eve of the launch of the CIO Magazine in Karachi, Pakistan, OPEN SV was amongst the recepients of CIO Magazine Pioneer Awards. OPEN SV received the award for improving Pakistan's technology industry's industry image abroad. We believe it's a recognition that we share with the OPEN SV community. The Fifth Annual OPEN FORUM was held at the SAP Campus on Jun 14th 2008. The event was a huge success with over 500 attendees throughout the day. The theme of the event this year was Leading through Change. This all day event featured over 50 top entrepreneurs, corporate executives and academics as speakers. The conference was organized around three parallel tracks: Entrepreneurship Track, the Global Affairs Track and Conference Spotlight. Some of the notable speakers included Mike Moritz of Sequoia Capital, Steve Westly of The Westly Group, Mark Ward, Sr. Administrator, USAID Asia Bureau, Pakistani Ambassador at Large, Husain Haqqani, Sohaib Abbasi of Informatica and Munawar Hidayatallah, CEO of Allis-Chalmers Energy.
